18th Century Living History

Living History?

Although many groups use the term living history to describe battle re-enactments and drill displays, we as living historians aim to recreate a moment from the past to the best of our ability. This means from the time we arrive at a location right through to the point we leave. This means eating accurate foods/rations, sleeping in woollen blankets, at times under the stars.

Our aim is to leave the 21st century behind for a period of time. Through not only displaying but also experiencing at least some part of 18th century life, we hope to gain an insight into the period not only for ourselves but also in our attempts to interpret this to the public.
